As the first Venezuelan film shot almost entirely in the Warao language (Indigenous language in the Delta of Orinoco - Venezuela), Gone with the River represents a historical moment for Venezuelan cinema.

This film was selected as part of the Berlin Film Festival’s ground breaking NATIVe showcase, before being announced as Venezuela’s official submission to the 88th Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film.

Audience Award, Best Cinematography, Best Sound and Special Mention for child actors at the Venezuelan Film Festival of Mérida (2013).
